From Jack MacDonald (CLHS 1957):
Mike was one of my closest friends. He came by my house every school day so we could walk the 5-6 blocks to school. Mike and I would often walk back to my house over the noon lunch period to catch the daytime soap "As the World Turns". We didn't want to miss a single show. We would also catch some of the Jack Paar show. I'm not sure how we got this all done without being late for class, but, we managed it.
Mike was always along when we cruised the town. He always rode with either T Fankell or me since he didn't have the use of a car. He was one of the class comedians and left us with a lot of cherished memories of growing up together.
Michael was born in Des Moines, where he had lived the past year. He had previously lived in Glendale, Ariz. and Glendale, Calif. He was employed by Danielski Farm Transport as a dispatcher. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Kellogg, West Des Moines; four children, Ann Marie Kellogg, West Des Moines, Peter, Sarah, and Joseph Kellogg; three sisters, Lark Roberts, West Des Moines, Cherie Lee Oehlert, Clear Lake, Bonnie Millard, West Des Moines.
