Keith Alfred Zirbel 67, a resident of The Dalles, died peacefully
Tuesday (March 27, 2007) at his home.
He was born on July 3, 1939, the fifth of 10 children to Alfred
and Ruth (Holt) Zirbel in Clear Lake, Iowa.
Keith grew up in Clear Lake and graduated from high school there.
He then moved to Portland and settled in The Dalles in 1960. He
married Jan Mahan on March 5, 1969 in Goldendale, Wash.
He retired as a maintenance supervisor for Northwest Aluminum. He
was a member of The Dalles Yacht Club and a board member of the
Dal-Gold Credit Union. He enjoyed bird watching, tormenting his grandchildren, yard sale hunting, antiquing, trains, history and boating.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jan Zirbel of The Dallas, Ore,; daughters Tina Klundt and her husband Tony of Vancouver, Wash, and Jennifer Rosa and her husband Clyde of Wishram, Wash;, grandchilren Anna Lane and Emma; siblings Glen, Fred, Margaret, Rachel, Don, David, Mark, Paul and Doreen.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Viewing/visitation was held from 2 to 7 pm Thursday, March 29, at the Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home, 1100 Kelly Ave in The Dalles, Ore and will also be held from 10am to 7pm today, March 30, and from 9 am until 3pm Saturday, March 31, at the Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home followed by services.
