Life since 1957: I left CLHS after the football season of our junior year and joined the U.S. Army. While in the Army, I received my GED from the Armed Forces Institute. Next, I graduated from Cambridge (MN) High School. After a year at St. Cloud State (MN), I attended Mason City Junior College where I received an Associate of Arts degree. My year at MCJC was a great deal of fun. I played football on a team made up of players from the Clear Lake area. Next, it was on to Drake University from which I graduated in 1963. The day after graduation I started working in the financial services industry and retired at age 65.
Life Now: Waiting for my wife, Libby, to retire after 40+ years with the same company. We live on an acreage near Indianola, IA. We have 5 adult children and 10 grandchildren who all live in the area. Libby and I enjoy keeping track of the the grandchildren's activities- especially sports. Lots of sports!
Contact With Classmates: I have been in touch with quite a few classmates over the years. I have a lot of relatives who still live in the Clear Lake area so, I keep in touch with what is happening with the town and people with whom I have a deep sentimental attachment.
Hobbies: Reading "Treasure Island" for Miss Sponheim's class. I hope if I finish it by the end of June, 2007, I will qualify to be an official member of The Class of '57.
Favorite Song: Although somewhat hard to dance to, my favorite songs of the 1957 era are "Clear Lake Will Shine Tonight" and "Can't You Hear Those Lions Roar."
Like to Hear From: Anyone who has ever flown over, driven through, lived in or graduated from Clear Lake.
